Residence One Project Description
This client in Washington, DC, had a one-car garage with very little storage space that was nearly impossible to swing their car in to. They wanted a larger garage with space for their car, a workshop and storage over-head. They also wanted to add a kitchen and a side, mudroom entry.
We obtained a special variance for the height of the new garage, demolished the existing garage and completed the additions for them in time their annual Labor Day weekend party.
The Dining Room addition was structured with additional support in the ceiling for the eventual possibility of adding to the master bedroom above. We also built a retaining wall in their front yard to eliminate their ongoing problem of the garden washing on to the sidewalk in front of their property.
The patio was enlarged to accommodate summertime entertaining and additional privacy from the neighbors at the rear of the property.
